Former president/owner Jeff Butcher worked in sales at Selbys before purchasing it from Dick Althaus in 1984. The Missoula-Billings based company, under Jeff’s leadership, grew to include locations in Bozeman and Helena.

1948
Selbys was established.
1970s
Dick Althaus bought Billings and Missoula locations.
Early 1980s
Jeff Butcher worked as a Selbys salesman.
1984
Jeff and Carrilyn Butcher bought Selbys. The original Billings location is where the current Burger Dive is located downtown.
1989
Butchers expanded their Billings, Missoula, and Bozeman locations to include Helena.
1992
Billings Selbys moved from the southside location near the Conoco refinery to their newly-built location on the West End, where they are today.
1996
Billings Selbys purchased the adjacent lot at their current location to grow their print room, warehouse, and add additional sales offices.
2000
Bozeman Selbys moved from their 7th Avenue location (near present day Universal Athletics) to their current location.
2004
Billings Selbys added a warehouse and completed a full exterior remodel.
2010
Bozeman Selbys remodeled the interior and exterior.
2019
Selbys Missoula remodeled their storefront.
